As a graduate of Downers Grove South High School, Lauren Meister was a two time team MVP, as well as earning all-conference player of the year in 2005/2006. Twice she was selected as an IHSA All State player and was honored to be chosen as 2nd team Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All American. Meister holds high school career marks for homers in a season (13), career (34) along with hits, runs, RBIs and doubles. She led the Mustangs to three conference championships and a second place finish in the IHSA Class AA state tournament in 2006. As a multi-sport varsity athlete she was a four-time letter winner in basketball. Meister went on to play for Bradley University from 2006-2010. She earned the title of Team Captain in her senior year, and helped Bradley University win its first conference tournament in school history in 2009. She contributed a two-out single in the 7th inning of BUs NCAA Tournament game against Missouri. From freshman year starting 41 games at shortstop, highlights include her 2008 season making 22 starts at second base, and 10 starts at third base. Ranked second on the team with 16 RBI and tied for second with three home runs.
Lauren's hitting philosophy is exemplified through trust and preparation. If as a hitter, one is executing the preparation, the muscle memory will follow by trusting that preparation. Plus, it's really a fun result when it all comes together!
