Coach Fox is a respected Illinois High School Baseball Coach from Downers Grove South High School. He has since retired as Head Varsity Baseball Coach and was inducted into the Downers Grove South Hall of Fame in 2010. During his career, he sent over 60 players on to play in college and/or professionally. He was an IHSBCA board member for over 15 years and was named Man of the Year by the IHSBCA in 2007. He was then inducted into the HSBCA Hall of Fame in 2008.
Phil is the senior athletic advisor at the Bulls/Sox Academy and his duties consist of instructing all areas of hitting, fielding and pitching. He also leads camps, clinics, and programs that are offered to athletes and coaches in the local area for the Academy.
Coach Fox is a former collegiate player at Illinois State University where he went into the record books for throwing a no-hitter and recording a save in another combined no-htter. He also spent time as the pitching coach at Aurora University and as an assistant coach at Harper College. In addition, Coach Fox has written and published baseball articles in professional magazines and is currently writing manuals on all phases of baseball.
