Welcome to the FASTPITCH Division of the Chicago White Sox Training Academy.
I’m Kathy Young, the Director of FASTPITCH Operations. I have a great passion for teaching players what it takes to play the game with sound fundamentals, confidence and enthusiasm.
My experience at the collegiate level gives me an extensive knowledge of the game. Here’s an outline of my credentials:
- Former Asst. Coach at St. Xavier University (1991-2001)
- Coached several All Conference, All Region and All American Players
- NAIA All American Honorable Mention (1990) St. Xavier University
- SXU Most Valuable Player (1990)
- All District 20 Team (1990)
- Maureen Donovan Memorial Award (1984)
Beyond players, I also conduct coach's clinics throughout the Midwest.
The Chicago Bulls/White Sox Training Academy’s most valuable tool for delivering championship quality FASTPITCH instruction to young athletes is our team of expert instructors. Our talented team of instructors features former professional players as well as some of the best collegiate and high school coaches in the Midwest.
In addition to our full-time staff, we also have guest instructors and appearances by professional players like Laura Harms of The Bandits.
For Beginners…ages 3-6…
Our Fastpitch Little Sluggers and Rookie Camps will help your daughter start a lifelong love of playing on the diamond.
For Youth Players…ages 7-14…
We offer many programs including hitting leagues, spring and summer camps, and private instruction. Don’t forget our semi-private lessons. This program gives our students the opportunity to have semi-private lessons with one, two or three students. Many siblings or teammates take of advantage of this format.
For High School Players…
We offer high school level players many of the same programs/camps as our youth players, with the addition of our Prospect and High School Refresher Camps.
Our Prospect Camp gives you’re the opportunity to showcase your skills to Collegiate coaches across the Midwest. We invite NCAA, NAIA & NJCAA coaches! This is a perfect camp to attend if you have the desire to compete at the collegiate level.
Don’t forget to take advantage of our High School Refresher Camp, where you will receive championship level instruction in order to fine tune your skills for high school tryouts. The key to making a team is to show the coach from the first workout that you're ready! We'll make sure you're ready!
