04/02/2014 9:13 AM -

LISLE, IL – The Bulls/Sox Academy is thrilled to announce that Academy instructor and professional outfielder Jim Adduci has officially made the Texas Rangers 25-Man Major League roster.

Jim Adduci, 28, has spent a majority of his life honing his skills at the Bulls/Sox Academy in Lisle since his father, former Major Leaguer, Jim Adduci, has been with the Academy for seventeen years and is currently the new Director of Elite Baseball. The younger Adduci has been involved at the Academy as a private instructor and an Explosion sports performance trainer.

“Everyone at the Academy is incredibly proud of Jim and the perseverance he has exhibited throughout his baseball career,” said Xan Pearson, President of Bulls/Sox Academy. “Jimmy’s a great role model. He embodies the message we try to instill in all the young students we teach…be passionate towards a goal, continue to hone your skills by constantly working on fundamentals and never give up on your dream.”

Originally selected out of Evergreen Park High School by the Marlins in the 42nd round of the 2003 draft, the six-foot-two, 210-pound Adduci hit .258 (8-for-31) with 1 double, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases in 17 games last season with the Texas Rangers. Prior to being called up with Texas in 2013, Jim was hitting .298/.381/.463 with 16 homers, 65 RBI and 32 stolen bases at Triple-A Round Rock. The left-handed hitting outfielder has played 889 games over 10 seasons in the minor leagues with three different organizations.

The Bulls/Sox Academy, located in Lisle, Illinois, is owned and operated by the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. The Academy runs extensive training programs in basketball, baseball, fastpitch softball, and sports conditioning for boys and girls from five to eighteen. There are additional Academy locations in Glen Ellyn and La Grange. For more information, please visit www.BullsSoxAcademy.com or call 630-324-8221.
