05/15/2012 9:17 AM - The 12U White Sox fastpitch travel team went 5-0 to capture the HRP National Qualifier (ASA) Tournament Championship hosted in Melrose Park, IL over the weekend.
Some of the weekend highlights include the White Sox having 47 hits and scoring 35 runs in 5 games while only giving up 7. The Sox also had 8 sacrifice bunts which contributed to many of those runs.
The tournament hitting leaders for the 12U team were Taylor Young (8 Hits, 10 RBI's), Allie Waterman (7 Hits, 5 RBI's), Katie Polaski (6 Hits, 7 Runs), Hannah Kalnicky (6 Hits, 6 Runs) and Allie Goettsch (5 Hits, 4 RBI's).
The offense wasn't the only story for the White Sox during the tournament, the 12U pitching staff was also spectacular lead by Holly Marousek (18 Inn, 14 K's) with Andrea Meagher, Camryn Weitzel and Nikki Cuchran also turning in great performances throughout the weekend.
