White Sox Elite Tourney Recap #6- 16U-GF

The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox drop 8-0 game to Pro Player Canes (Naranjo)

The White Sox 16U lost in six innings to the Pro Player Canes on Saturday evening.

Jose Sanchez was the lone bright spot in the lineup as he was 1-1 with two walks. Owen Waunn also finished 1-2.

David Rubin got the start on the mound and went five innings giving up five runs on six hits and struck out six.

The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Drop Tough One 15-11 Game To Indiana Landsharks

The 16U Elite-Fox saw victory slip away on Saturday when a seven-run second inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Indiana Landsharks.

Christian Erikson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the White Sox 16U. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.

Nico Sanchez was on the mound and went 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The bottom of the first saw the 16U Elite-Fox take an early lead, 4-0. Joey Allen tripled, scoring Brandt McCartney and Jose Sanchez after a single by Sanchez got things started. The scoreboard lit up again for the White Sox 16U when Allen scored on an RBI single by Erikson and Erikson scored on an error.

The 16U Elite-Fox brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the second, they scored on an RBI single by McCartney, bringing home Sanchez.

Nico Sanchez's Effort Not Enough To Carry The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Past Stiks Academy, 4-2

Sanchez did his best to change the outcome, but he couldn't guide the 16U Elite-Fox past Stiks Academy on Friday.

Sanchez looked sharp on the bump. Stiks Academy managed just one hit off of Sanchez, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out none during his two innings of work.

Two runs in the top of the sixth helped the 16U Elite-Fox close their deficit to 4-2. A two-run double by Fushi gave the White Sox 16U life, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Connor Graefen and David Rubin were both 1-2 with a run scored.

The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Couldn’t Get The Bats Going, Drop 11-2 Contest To Pro Player Canes (Deain)

After a quick strike from Pro Player Canes, the 16U Elite-Fox responded with two runs in the first. They scored on two errors.

It was a tough day at the plate for the White Sox 16U as they were only able to get two hits in the game. Jose Sanchez was 1-3 with a run scored while Gage Olszak was 1-3 with a double and run scored.

Murphy Juska got the start and went four innings giving up 3 earned runs on five hits and struck out two.
