David Rubin's Effort Not Enough To Carry The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Past Legends Baseball Club
Rubin did his best to change the outcome, but he couldn't will the 16U Elite-Fox past Legends Baseball Club as they lost 6-2 in seven innings on Saturday.
Two runs in the bottom of the third helped the White Sox 16U close their deficit to 3-2. A bases loaded walk and an RBI single by Connor Graefen set off the rally.
Graefen finished 1-3 with an RBI while Nick Fushi was 1-2 with a double.
Jose Sanchez's Big Day Not Enough, As The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Lose 14-5 To Indiana Prospects 16U
Despite Sanchez's 2-3 performance at the plate on Friday, the 16U Elite-Fox took a 14-5 loss at the hands of Indiana Prospects 16U.
Two of the White Sox 16U’s runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Sanchez. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
The 16U Elite-Fox posted one run in each of the first, third and sixth. In the first, they scored on an RBI single by Gage Olszak, scoring Tommy Benson.
Two runs in the bottom of the second helped the 16U Elite-Fox close their deficit to 7-3. A hit by pitch and an RBI single by Benson set off the rally.
One run in the bottom of the sixth helped the White Sox 16U shorten the deficit. An RBI single by Sanchez sparked the rally, but it wouldn’t be enough.
The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Top Indiana Prospects 16U In Back-And-Forth Affair, 7-6
After five lead changes in Friday's game, the 16U Elite-Fox finally pulled out a 7-6 win over Indiana Prospects 16U.
The White Sox 16U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. They scored on an RBI single by Tommy Benson, plating Jose Sanchez.
Sanchez racked up five RBIs on two hits for the 16U Elite-Fox. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.
Indiana Prospects 16U had no answer for Jimmy Karfis, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Karfis held them hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
The 16U Elite-Fox got one-run rallies in the second inning and the third. In the second, they scored on an RBI single by Owen Waunn, bringing home Joey Allen.
The White Sox 16U didn't give up the lead after the seventh inning. Additional runs came from a two-run triple by Sanchez.
Dual-Threat Carries The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Past West Michigan Riptide 10-3
An impressive two-way performance from Gage Olszak led the 16U Elite-Fox to a 10-3 win Thursday over West Michigan Riptide, as Olszak came up huge at the dish and on the mound.
Olszak racked up four RBIs on three hits for the White Sox 16U. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth innings.
West Michigan Riptide's lineup had no answer for Olszak as he gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his three innings of work.
The 16U Elite-Fox's bats came to life in the sixth inning when they scored eight runs. They scored in the sixth on a two-run double by Joey Allen, an error, a groundout by Nico Sanchez, an error, a wild pitch, and a two-run double by Olszak.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game. The White Sox 16U were able to come out on top to get the win.
David Rubin's Triple Propels The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Fox Past Next Level Baseball, 6-2
The 16U Elite-Fox jumped on Next Level Baseball early, scoring three runs in the first inning. They scored in the first on a two-run triple by David Rubin and an error.
Brandt McCartney reached base two times in the game for the White Sox 16U. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the third inning.
The 16U Elite-Fox added two more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when McCartney tripled, bringing home Gage Olszak. That was followed up by Elias Hernandez's triple, plating McCartney.
Nick Fushi got the start and went six innings giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out five.
