Early Lead Gives the White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Maziur Victory Over Chicago Elite-Radz, 10-3


The Sox 16U Elite-Maziur jumped out to an early lead on Chicago Elite-Radz and captured a victory on Saturday. The game was decided quickly as the White Sox 16U exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

Zac Styka boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the 16U Elite-Maziur.

The White Sox 16U got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, they scored on a groundout by Jake Karczewski, scoring Jack Ferraro. They then piled on two more runs in the top of the sixth when a wild pitch scored Karczewski to open the scoring in the frame.

Giovanni Lopez was 2-2 at the plate with a double, a walk and scored three runs.  Charlie wood also had a good day at the plate going 1-3 with two RBI’s, a walk, and scored a run.

Jack Warshawksy went the distance on the mound giving up three runs on six hits and striking out four.



The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Maziur Drop 13-5 Game to Pro Player – Deain

Patrick Hayes went 2-3 at the plate, but the 16U Elite-Maziur fell to Pro Player - Deain on Saturday.
 
Pro Player had no answer for David Ascencio, who kept runners off the base paths in his appearance. Ascencio held them hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Two runs in the bottom of the second helped the 16U Elite-Maziur close their deficit to 3-2. A two-run single by Charlie Wood triggered the comeback.

Three runs in the bottom of the fifth helped the White Sox 16U close their deficit to 13-5. A bases loaded walk, an error, and a walk by Ascencio gave the 16U Elite-Maziur life but it wasn’t enough to spark a big rally.


The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Maziur Fall Behind In Sixth Inning in 6-3 Loss to Grand Rapids Diamonds

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as the 16U Elite-Maziur fell to Grand Rapids Diamonds 6-3 in seven innings on.

It was a good day at the plate for the White Sox 16U’s Giovanni Lopez. Lopez went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

The 16U Elite-Maziur jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Lopez singled to ignite the offense then a single by Bryce Moskiewicz moved Lopez from first to second. Zac Styka doubled, scoring Lopez.

A one-run seventh inning helped bring the White Sox 16U within three. A walk by Jake Karczewski gave them life, but it wouldn’t be enough to spark a rally.

Ryan Ruberry came in for one and a third inning relief giving up one hit and striking out one.


The White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Maziur Uses Big Sixth Inning to Beat Rockford Baseball Academy, 10-0

A seven-run explosion in the sixth inning carried the White Sox Academy 16U Elite-Maziur to a 10-0 win in six innings over Rockford Baseball Academy at Carthage College on Friday.

The 16U Elite-Maziur scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Jake Armentrout, a groundout by David Ascencio, an RBI single by Jack Ferraro, a walk by Jake Karczewski, and a three-run double by Patrick Hayes. Karczewski racked up three RBIs on three hits for the White Sox 16U.

Cullen Geary put together a nice outing. Rockford Baseball Academy managed just two hits off of Geary, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his four innings of work.

The 16U Elite-Maziur stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring one run on an RBI double by Karczewski.

The 16U Elite-Maziur tacked on another two runs in the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Bryce Moskiewicz doubled, scoring Charlie Wood. That was followed up by Karczewski's single, bringing home Moskiewicz.
