White Sox Academy Elite 13U team opens inaugural season with dominate victory over LT Titans, 15-0
In their first tournament this past weekend the White Sox Elite 13U team opened their inaugural season in big fashion with a 15-0 victory of the LT Titans.
A dominate pitching performance by left-hander Brock Jessup and big homeruns by Trey Rucker and Alex Calarco paced the 13U Sox Elite team. The game was over quickly with the Sox Elite 13U club scoring 15 runs in two innings. Right fielder Adam Dowler and first baseman Emmett Olson each contributed two hits in the victory while Tylor Phommachanhom and Mason Graham scored three runs each.
The first game after a winter of top-fight training at the Bulls/Sox Academy was a welcome change for the White Sox Elite 13U Club. The game was a total team effort with every player in the line-up contributing an RBI or run scored including Matt Felske and Jay Randle who contributed with an RBI and run scored respectively.
The White Sox Academy Elite 13U team gets on top of McHenry Cobras early but can't hang on in 5-3 loss
The White Sox Academy Elite 13U team jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-3 to the McHenry Cobras on Saturday. Arguably, the two best teams competing in the tournament didn’t disappoint as the game went down to the last second on the drop dead time limit as the Sox elite team was unable to finish their at bats and stranded the tying runs on base.
While the Sox Academy Elite 13U team led until the fifth inning, McHenry Cobras worked its way back and took the lead late in the game.
Mason Graham racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bulls/Sox Academy Elite 13U. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.
The bottom of the first saw the White Sox Academy Elite 13U take an early lead, 3-0. After Tylor Phommachanhom doubled, the Sox Elite team kept the pressure on the McHenry Cobras pitching, as Graham homered, bringing home Phommachanhom. McHenry Cobras got one-run boosts in each of the second, fourth and sixth to secure the lead and victory.
Early lead gives the White Sox Elite 13U team victory over the Woodridge Bulldogs, 14-2
The White Sox Elite 13U jumped out to an early lead on the Woodridge Bulldogs and captured a 14-2 victory on Saturday at Rosemont Dome improving their season record to 2-1.
The game was decided quickly as the Elite 13U team exerted their will early with 14 runs in the first three innings. An RBI single by Matt Felske, a three-run home run by Sebastian Cabeza, a sacrifice fly by Mason Graham, and an RBI single by Tylor Phommachanhom in the first inning and an RBI single by Sebastian, an RBI double by Emmett Olson, a fielder's choice, and a steal of home by Alex Calarco during the second inning fueled the Sox Academy Elite 13U's offense early. Cabeza racked up four RBIs on three hits for the White Sox Academy Elite 13U.
The Bulls/Sox Academy Elite 13U built upon their lead with four runs in the third. A three-run blast by Trey Rucker ignited the offense plating Brock Jessup and Matt Felske.
The White Sox Elite 13U team will continue their season April 9th and 10th in Lockport in the Battle of the Rankings USSSA opening tournament.
